About our pet friendly holiday cottage
Our Cotswold country cottage is all of the above and more, we pride ourselves on making this a home from home experience. All the comforts you should expect from a holiday, including being able to take the 'hairy' members of your family with you.
Our pet friendly holiday cottage has a secure garden; it is away from the main road and is right on the doorstep of the 'Forest of Dean' with its stunning walks and scenery.
If you have never visited this part of Britain you really are missing a treat; beautiful woodland walks, undulating streams with buzzards flying overhead, it really is an Idyllic place. The nearest Forest entrance is less than half a mile away and there are more walks than is possible to mention within a very short distance.
The layout of our Pet friendly holiday cottage
The cottage has a large garden that overlooks the valley; we do have a paddock in front of the garden which occasionally is home to some sheep and lambs. (We politely ask that if they are there that your dog does not worry them – they are quite friendly and will look through the fence to see what is going on!) The garden is secure and has lockable gates; it is approximately 100 meters from the road.
We also have a 30 x 10 feet (10m x 3m) conservatory, in which our dog Ernie (Cairn Terrier) and our daughters’ dog Teague (Rhodesian ridgeback) love to lie and catch the warmth of the sun. Some of our regular guests Brac & Bailey (Border Terriers) and Mia & Daphne (Rottweilers) are also great fans of our garden and the beautiful walks.
Welfare of your pets at our holiday cottage
All of our guests are responsible pet owners and to date we have had no complaints or problems but we do ask that your pet has had up to date flea/worming treatment and that you do not allow them onto the furniture or bedding.We also respectfully ask that you check the garden and please pick up (doggy do's) after your pet and dispose of appropriately at the end of your visit.
Many Dog behaviorists recommend dog crates as they can help dogs feel safe and secure. If your pets prefer to use a crate, or if they are accustomed to using one at home, there is a large dog crate available for use at the cottage, please note – we do not supply the bedding.

Caroline manager of Mutlers Row is also hoping to release Hedgehogs in the garden at some point this year. Caroline has been 'over wintering' some of the late autumn babies and when they are ready (fat enough) they will be released.
We are also going to 'orchard' the lower part of the garden with Apple, Pear, Plum and Cherry,hopefully this will help increase the wildlife into the garden and provide tasty treats for our guests, so not only is it a beautiful cotswold country cottage but 'fruitful too'.
The birds are in their element at Mutlers Row as are new feeding station is attracting alot of species. When Caroline was there last apart from blue/Great/Marshtits , Sparrows, Wrens, green/gold/chaffinchs, we had Green Woodpecker, Crossbill visit for food and Golden Oreole spotted twice in the trees, to name but a few; it is fantastic when our guests spot a new bird and leave details for us and I am sure all Mutlers Row guests will join in reporting on future Hedgehog welfare in the guest book.

We have just been awarded the 'Tudor Rose 3 star accommodation' by Visit Britain which is fabulous news for us and for you our guests. You can be assured this holiday cottage will be of a high standard; as we are all aware holiday lets are always a bit of a gamble, never being sure of what you will find when you arrive, so its good news for everyone to know when you choose this country cottage that is one of the things that you will not have to think about; and that takes some of the stress out of English cottages search.
Holiday Cottage
If you are looking for a holiday cottage with stunning surroundings and easy access to all types of holiday activities, this is the perfect way to go. English cottages are stunning with the wonderful variety of stone we have in this country and this holiday cottage is no exception. Originally a row of 4 cottages with a kiln for mortar in the gardens, the Mutlers would be hard at work. Now this holiday cottage has been made into one of the most relaxing holiday lets I have visited and the original stone that was once the kiln, is now surrounding the holiday cottage as a garden wall.
Although we might not fall into the large holiday homes for over 6 people, this cottage is really spacious and comfortable for 4 people. The large conservatory is the centre piece of this cottage where our guest all let us know how much they adore having breakfast in there or just relaxing with a good book on one of the sofas, whilst the children or pets play in the secure garden; or just enjoying the view over the valley.
Being awarded the 3 stars also shows our commitment to maintaining these standards and that we listen to our guests needs. We know that when you are looking for Cotswold cottages and want to come home from a day sight seeing, how much nicer your cottage holiday is when the place you are returning to is comfortable.
We might fall into cheap holiday cottages, but we are really good value for money, having been told on numerous occasions how reasonable we are and that we should be charging more, we do not want that to be the deciding point for people to make their holiday cottage choice on; so when you want to book this country cottage you have: great value, fabulous location and plenty to do for all ages. Great news for all our guests…We are officially now a 'Tudor Rose 3 star property', we have been assessed and approved by Visit Britain; so when you are now looking to book a holiday cottage that you can be sure is of a high standard.
We know that that will take the stress away from trying to decide what sort of accommodation you will walk into, having been to plenty of different cottage homes myself. I truly understand the huge disappointment one can feel when you open that holiday home door for the first time and it’s not what you thought you had paid for. All of our guest have left positive feedback and given us wonderful comments in our visitors’ book. This is by far the best sort of advertisement that anyone could wish for, and now we have the 3 star Tudor Rose to affirm those comments.
We have really tried to get a home from home touch, so you feel relaxed and comfortable, a place to bring the children and the family pet and still have a really high 3 star holiday home.
We were very precise about what we wanted to achieve; and that included being family orientated; pet friendly and keeping our sofa beds as an option; we have found that when our guests arrive for their week’s holiday they often want to invite a friend for a day or 2 and this allows them that option; we have listened to what our guests have said and stayed true to that.
