Hi,
What a great place to stay, fully equipped, clean, spacious and such great views. Location is perfect for touring the area. Even our Jack Russell loved it in the thoughtfully enclosed garden. One visit will not be enough and we look forward to coming again in the near future. You can rest assured that you will not be disappointed by booking this cottage, a truly home from home. Cant wait to re-book.

Hi Caroline

We spent a lovely week at your cottage, you really have thought of everything. The view could not be better !

We had an issue with mum initially, as we were unable to put her in the ground floor room as planned due to the distance away from the loo, my fault i didn't realise there was not a loo in the en-suite. so she went upstairs, stairs a tad tricky for her at 87 – miraculously, she made it though without mishap

As a property, we will definitely return one day, minus mum. We were very comfy, the quirky hobbit door into the bedroom amused us no end and has featured on Facebook – 5' door with my 6'6" husband behind it 😉 very funny. The photo's on the website are very accurate – everything was most comfy.

Thank you so much for all your help before we arrived, and for being so accommodating with our changes in guest numbers. See you again.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you so much for a fabulous weekend at your amazing cottage! It was a great opportunity for a family (three couples) get together to celebrate my 50th. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The cottage was so well equipped we wanted for nothing – we even had the weather we'd ordered! Meg the dog had a whale of a time because she was free to race around the enclosed garden. On Saturday we all had a pyjama day lounging in the conservatory and didn't get dressed until we went out for dinner!! Absolutely brilliant break. We are all looking forward to coming back soon xx

Hi Caroline

Thank you for a wonderful holiday in your cottage last week. The view over the valley was beautiful and we were lucky with the weather, so enjoyed tea outside on your decking.
It is rare to find a property with three double rooms and they were all a good size, the big conservatory on the back was perfect for enjoying the lovely wine from Three Choirs Vineyard and lovely nibbles from Truffles Deli (Ross on Wye). The welcome tray was a lovely surprise too as we didn't need to rush off for bread and milk. We all fell in love with the character and charm of your cottage and our little Yorkshire Terrier loved it too. Thanks again and hope to return soon.

We had a lovely week at Mutlers Row over October half term. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and beautifully located. We spent as much time as possible in the conservatory looking out over the fabulous views over the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Lots to do locally, we visited Goodrich and Chepstow castles as well as Weston's Cider Farm, Tintern Abbey and Gloucester. Our dog Barney also enjoyed our walks through the forest and visits to the many pet friendly pubs in the area.

A wonderful relaxing place to spend some time.

Hi Caroline,

We had a lovely time in your great cottage, other than when we arrived there was a powercut due to a fallen tree on to a power line, so dinner was fish and chip from the chip shop in mitcheldean which was lovely. 3 good sized bedroom each with a double bed, wifi which pleased both boys, and lots of games to play. The garden is a great size, which was all enclosed which was great for the dog, who had fun watching the pony in the field. Wonderful views from the house, which was in a great location. We all enjoyed feeding the birds. When we return to the Forest of Dean will be booking the cottage again.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you for a wonderful cottage and we couldn't have wanted for anything……. We were lucky with the weather and managed to have four days sitting in the sun on the decking and sipping wine! It was also a bonus to have the downstairs bedroom and bathroom as my father struggles with stairs. We spent most of the time in the conservatory watching the birds and saw so many different species. It was also nice to see the moles hard at work in the garden although I am sure you will not think so…… There was so much to do locally and we managed a trip to Hereford and Pen Y Fan in the Welsh black mountains with wonderful views. We would definitely recommend this cottage to all our friends.

Thank you again

06/07/2012.

A lovely cottage with stunning views once the rain clouds have lifted. It is spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were all very comfortable which is what we needed after a days walking in the forest and visiting the local towns.

The driveway was a bit of a challenge, but after reversing up and down it all week we gradually got better. The Wi-Fi worked very well, much better than what we have back home. One of our son's took his Xbox which worked okay on the older CRT television. We noticed another holiday maker had trouble trying to connect a PS3 console, but all you need to do is take out the Scart plug at the back of the TV for the DVD player and plug in the adaptor. This adaptor is a Scart plug which comes with 3 sockets for the audio and video plugs (red, white and yellow) of the video cable. The video cable comes as standard with his Xbox and we've also seen them with older consoles so don't forget it for those rainy days.

We enjoyed being in the conservatory, especially when it was sunny and the air-conditioning was a boon.

Lovely comfortable cottage, so much more than a home from home – I only wish our home had such a lovely conservatory and such superb views. Although only there for a long weekend, we certainly got out and about (very lucky with the weather) and enjoyed our stay very much.

The only downside was the traffic from the road running along the top. We hadn't realised how close it was when we booked, and it did somewhat disturb the tranquillity when sitting in the garden and at night – we had to close the windows to get to sleep.

Having said that, however, it didn't in any way ruin the holiday once we got used to it and we would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to spend time in this area.

Wow, what a fantastic cottage. In spite of the weather, it has to be one of the best cottage holidays we have had. Only managed an hour or two outdoors, due to rain/mist etc..Everything was perfect, bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, conservatory, kitchen – so well planned and spotlessly clean. We loved Ross on Wye which we followed with a trip to the Cider Farm, car filled with boxes/bottles of Cider/Perry. Interesting visit with the owner telling you all about Cider making and tasting as much as you like. So taken with the beauty and calm of this place I have to admit that we did not see any of the Jubilee celebrations. We took my son with us, he took his PS3 games console. Only problem we had was the TV was not LCD – just a minor problem, as I found a chap in Coleford who loaned me a 32" Philips 1080HD, for £30 the week. Happy Son, Happy Mum.. We would definitely recommend, I agree the 3 stars award should be more!! Oh, since our return we are now members of the RSPB, have a bird feeding station and saw more birds in one week than I have in my lifetime!!

Thank you so much, we had a fantastic stay at Mutlers Row. The views from the cottage are stunning and our toddler loved exploring the garden, with sheep and a pony just over the fence. The cottage had everything you need, a cozy sitting room, well equiped kitchen, big bedrooms, really comfortable beds and a great conservatory where we spent most of our time. We will definitely be booking the cottage again.

We had a lovely half term break here in February. When we arrived the weather was snow and ice but it soon warmed up. This is the cleanest and best appointed cottage we have stayed in. Plenty of room and everything you could wish for in a house. The beds are the most comfortable beds I have slept on, superb!
The conservatory is lovely and warm and you can watch the birds from there. My husband loved the goldfinches. We fed them daily.
My husband had man flu whilst on holiday but there is no where better to be poorly!
Just a short drive away are the main cycle routes, we went off piste a few times which is a massive mistake as it gets very muddy. Everyone we met were very nice and friendly. The Forest of Dean is a wonderful place to visit all year round. All in all a wonderful break with great owners who go that extra mile Many Thanks Tracey

2nd to 5th December. Had a really great time at Mutler's Row with our two sons and their wives and baby Toby. Weather was kinder than expected and we managed a long walk through the woods to Brierley and the Russian Swan Innski (!) for lunch, getting back in time for tea.
Sunday morning had a walk before heading off to the Inn on the Wye near Goodrich for a carvery lunch.
The cottage was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed. Highly recommendable to anyone for a country break.

We stayed at Mutlers Row for a short weekend in November, to celebrate a friends birthday. The house is perfect – wonderful location, close to all the Forest of Dean has to offer (which is a lot!), everything you could need ready for arrival, and the long conservatory at the back is the perfect place for a lazy breakfast before a hard days walking!

We were a gorup of 3 couples, and arrived well after dark on a Friday night. The next morning all 3 of us admitted opening the curtains and saying "Wow." – the view out the back across the Severn valley is the perfect wake-up call!

A brilliant weekend was had by all, and we definately hope to be back. Our only complaint was that we eren't there long enough! Thanks for everything!

James – Oxford.

We returned yesterday from Mutlers Row. We had a lovely week, the views from the cottage are great. We had some lovely trips into the forest. Puzzlewood was really good especially as the day we went there were lots of men running around dressed as elves and others from Lord of the Rings which was amusing, boys will be boys, no matter how old they are!!!

We hope to be able to return some time in the future. We didn't see any wild boar but plenty of evidence of them in the forest, they do a lot of damage.
We have never slept in such comfortable beds when away from home – bliss.

Thank you for the welcome tray it was much appreciated.

Second time we have stayed at Mutlers Row and it was just as wonderful as the first. We loved the updated bedrooms and thought the new downstairs bedroom was thoughtfully designed.

The area is lovely and there is something for everyone. The local pubs are very friendly and remebered us from last time, they even gave two of the group a lift home at the end of the night! The place is idyllic and we can't wait to return. The sheep were also very cute!

We will return soon!

We have just had a wonderful week at the cottage with my son & partner & 21 month old grandaughter. When we weren't out and about we spent most of our time in the lovely conservatory, which is so inviting and has wonderful views. The comfy beds and bedrooms also have superb views to wake up to. We were lucky enough to have reasonable weather so used the barbecue and garden also. Everything is provided for in the cottage except your food, which makes your holiday even more relaxing. The surrounding area has many walks and attractive areas to visit.
We sall certainly return!

A wonderful short break in a fantastic cottage. It is ideally placed for really refreshing early morning and evening walks for the dogs and close enough for Cheltenham, Ross and Hereford – useful for the ladies when on the one rainy day there was then 'shopping' was a suitable time filler!

The cottage is wonderfully presented and the only things you need to bring are yourselves and your food. It is so refreshing to see that the every day items such as sugar, tea, dishwasher tablets, spices are left for future occupants.

The views are wonderful and it was all to easy to polish off X bottles of wine and beer that first evening sat in the garden in the sunshine…….who needs a holiday abroad!

Melissa, Justin, Nia and Ed (Percy & Ernie the dogs) @ 9:10 am #

Lovely comfy cosy cottage, with everything needed Ernie absolutely loved the garden!
Ed enjoyed the Sky tv and spent all his spare time watching it (thanks for the biscuits) us kids really enjoyed it.
We went to Clearwell caves yesterday, it was great fun! If you want to play pool and darts, go to the Hope & Anchor by the river walk on Ross on Wye! We went swimming in Ross on Wye also.
The 'Penny Farthing' was brilliant for food – daddy recommends the fillet steak for tea. Ernie the dog recommends 'Collect a Pet' in Cinderford (dog grooming parlour), he had a lovely bath.
In Cinderford there is a great walk through the woods and it is brilliant for letting the dogs off the lead (Cinderford Linear Park)
There is so much to do, we haven't even scratched the surface so we will have to pay a return visit.
The 'Akash' – the best curry we've had in a long while

Thank you for everything

Hi Caroline

Just wanted to say thank you from us all. We had a wonderful weekend and thought the cottage was truly lovely. We met quite a few of the locals in Mitcheldean who were very friendly and we also walked from Lower Lydbrook to Symonds Yat and it was simply stunning.

We will definitely be visiting again. Everything about the cottage was perfect and very homely. The views are also amazing, can't wait to go again.

Thanks

Hi Caroline,

Just a brief note to stay how much we enjoyed our short stay in the cottage
last week.

It really is a lovely part of the country and we were blessed with good
weather for our stay. The cottage is very well set up and equipped and the
conservatory, with its commanding views was glorious.

Best Wishes

We had a lovely week at Mutlers Row, we found it very clean and extremely comfy with everything you might need. The dogs were safe in the garden and the kids loved the Sky TV, whilst we enjoyed the conservatory in peace! We need to come back as there is so much to do and see.

Hi, I'm Ken and I'm from Basingstoke. I have stayed in the cottage twice now, and I have to say this is the most relaxing place I have been to. Although there is plenty to do in the area I found myself just chilling out in the conservatory, getting lost in the stunning views. You could literally spend all weekend just starring out of the window.
At risk of you putting your prices up, I have to say this is one of the best value for money cottages I've stayed in. I rarely go to the same place twice, but I have here and I fully intend to come back again soon.
I am particularly impressed by how you seem to go above and beyond the call of duty to make your guests feel welcome and comfortable. I know you have just been awarded 3 stars from Visit Britain, but to my mind it's worth even more. I fully recommend staying in this lovely cottage.
